Thankfully Margharita found her way to our office and after a thorough examination, we discovered even at her young age, Margharita has worn about one-third of her teeth away from an improper occlusion, or bite. This mis-alignment of her jaws (see her "before" photos) caused her to have terrible headaches, jaw pain, vertigo and other symptoms that adversely affected her life. Putting veneers on her teeth would have worsened her symptoms and in short time she would have damaged and broken them off.
What We Did: Margharita is a "neuromuscular" patient. We needed to get her jaws into the correct alignment and find out where her teeth should be. This is accomplished using EMG and myomonitor equipment to assess her bite and wearing an orthotic device for months before any irreversible treatment is performed. Cosmetic dentists trained in neuromuscular dentistry make up only a few thousand across the country, but we are able to restore not only Margharita's smile, but also her life, to where she is pain-free.
