Sonja's story is an example that not all dentists who claim to do cosmetic dentistry, are the same. Sonja worked for a very good dentist on the East Coast, with the commitment to continuing education. Training is great, however, you need an understanding about materials, chroma, translucency, show through, design, and function. All the details that impact the results.
What We Found: Look closely at the "before" photos, Sonja looks okay, however, something is off with the position, and the teeth seem grayish in color. We discovered leakage and a bad smell around the new front teeth. Sonja was experiencing some bite problems and pain. This is a good example of how a dentist cannot just put a veneer and a new crown on front teeth without first understanding materials and the correct bite of the patient. There should not be pain or a smell after treatment.
What We Did: New beautifully balanced porcelain restorations. We also did Gentle Gum and tooth reshapinging to balance and soften the surrounding smile, Composite bonding to lenghten and keep healthy tooth structure.
